Why do we detect CAR gene copy number?
Qualified copy number is one of the important quality control specifications of CAR-T drugs. On the one hand, it demenstrates there were T cells with CAR gene modification. On the other hand, since excessive CAR gene modification may lead to the risk of secondary oncogenesisit, it is also an indicator of safety. Copy number levels during clinical treatment can reflect the proliferation, distribution and survival of CAR-T cells. Accurate detection of CAR gene copy number is a key step in the quality control and clinical treatment of CAR-T drugs.
